Psalms 119 Commentary: Part 7 (Verse 38 - 44)

Friday 16th July 2021

Happy Friday Angels!

I love my old school shows, if anything they're probably my favourite shows and movies to watch.

Anything old school or nineties, I just love 💗💖

It's so good to see you again! I checked the stats this week and I was surprised.

I tried updating this earlier but it wasn't happening. Unforeseen circumstances kind of happened. Maybe I should just stick to updating late, haha. I think that's what works best for me. It's just what I'm used to.

 Psalms 119:38-39

38 Keep your promise to me. Then other people will have respect for you.
39 Please don’t let me be put to shame. Your laws are good.

Jeremiah 29:11

11 “I know the plans I have for you,” announces the Lord. “I want you to enjoy success. I do not plan to harm you. I will give you hope for the years to come.”

God promises us that the plans he has for our lives are going to be of good and never of evil to bring us to an expected end.

When God promises something, he sticks to it. That’s why you should always trust in God at all times.

I have some verses about trusting the Lord at all times - you can find them below.

Colossians 3:17 says "And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."

And  Luke 9:23 says Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me."

I've said it before in this website I believe and I'll say it again.

Luke 9:23 says that you should take up the cross daily.

Not annually. Not occasionally. Not weekly. But daily.

Then I made some references to Numbers 21 vs 4-9 where the Israelites were travelling from Mount Hor to the Red Sea. The journey was too long for them, so therefore they had become impatient and frustrated as they had blasphemed God.

Blaspheming God is an unforgivable sin so God had dealt with them in his own way. He had sent snakes to them as majority of them had died. Long story short, let me just make reference to Numbers 21 vs 8 solely.

The LORD said to Moses, “Make a snake and put it up on a pole; anyone who is bitten can look at it and live.”

If they wanted to live, they would have had to look at the snake on the pole daily. If they were expecting all of their problems for the week to disappear in a day then they surely had another thing coming.

If they wanted their weekly problems to disappear then they would have had to look up at the pole for 7 days straight, unless they wanted to die.

Some people make promises to you but then they break it maybe due to unforeseen circumstances or because they’re not genuine.

A lot of people have broken promises to me but at the same time I have broken promises to them as well. I most likely didn't plan to, however some things had happened so I had to break the promise.

Let me tell you something real quick.

If you're worried that someone is going to break a promise they made you, and God told you that they won't, why are you worrying?

God's word is final, there's a song I know that has lyrics which go When Jesus says yes, nobody can say no.

God's yes is yes and his no is no. There's no surefire way for you to change God's mind - if anything it's impossible for you to do so as he knows what's best.

That's because he is genuine. His magnificence never changes.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forevermore. You can find that in Hebrews 13:8

And perhaps I've already said that before. Maybe in the previous post but it is still important regardless.

Psalms 119:40

40 I really want to follow your rules. Keep me alive, because you do what is right.

Pray that God will give you discretion for you to be able to separate right from wrong amen.

I’m saying this because some people or things in life seem righteous / good but they’re actually unrighteous / bad and vice versa. Looks are deceiving.

Coincidentally, I was listening to the song Things We Want by Ramiyah when I wrote this. I make a lot of references to this song because it's very powerful. I did so on my website page.

Maybe it's taking a little bit long
But you just won't know
Because he promised he would do just what he's saying

He's not a man who ever lies
So his words will never lack
But it must be in his will

Those are the lyrics I used from the song there. But this time I will use these lyrics.

There are things we want so bad
Like a dream we've always had
But what we want ain't always good for us

There are things that may look good
That could be misunderstood
'Cause what we want ain't always wonderful

Sometimes the things we want were actually better off from a distance compared to when they're up close, as in when you actually get them. Like for me, I've always wanted an iPhone and now that I've had one for a pretty long time now, it's not really as special anymore.

Whenever we get something new - and I've noticed this at one of the nurseries I used to work at - it's great at first until the novelty wears off and it becomes mundane or boring.

Babies I've seen at a nursery I used to work at were like that. They got bored fast or when they had a toy, and another baby had another toy... they'd normally stare at them, lose interest in the toy that they had, and fight the baby for their toy even though they had it first.

Same with activities, they'd lose interest quick.

The grass isn't always greener on the other side. And occasionally it is either because it's fake (we call it Astro Turf, aka fake grass) or because it's full of weeds instead. At times it is, but even then why focus on someone else when you can focus on yourself.

Comparing yourself to someone else is kind of a waste of who God created you to be.

We all have different purposes and destinies in life. We all move at our own pace.

So for that matter, just stay true to who you are and never feel as though you are never good enough. And remember that it's always better to be a first rate version of you than a second rate version of someone else.

After all, being you is your superpower - don't let anybody take that away from you!

You were destined to be great since you were born - another song lyric by Ramiyah which I was listening to as I wrote this. It's called Just Stop.

Psalms 119:41-42

41 Lord, show me your faithful love. Save me as you have promised.
42 Then I will answer those who make fun of me, because I trust in your word.

Pray that God will show you his faithful love.

When God starts loving you, he doesn’t really stop until you die.

I asked a question to someone the other day which was if God remembers the dead. I don't think he does. Maybe on the day of rapture but that's it.

As I always like to say when I say something that I'm unsure of...

That’s why you should give God your all, because he always gives you his all too.

God never does 75% or 80%. He gives you 100%— even more than that!

Not saying this will always happen but some people may ridicule you for your faith, asking you why you believe in God.

But you should rise above them and shine because fear comes from the devil.

When God calls you to do something and people rise against you, attacking you, ridiculing you, making fun of you, or slandering you, don’t be discouraged or feel alone. They did the same to Jesus and His disciples.

I hope you have a lovely day or night ahead, depending on when you were reading this, amen

Psalms 119:43-44

43 Help me always to tell the truth about how faithful you are. I have put my hope in your laws.
44 I will always obey your law, for ever and ever.

God is faithful, especially how he’s the reason you’re alive today!

So many people take life for granted in the sense that they live as if tomorrow is guaranteed.

Tomorrow isn’t always guaranteed so you should live each day as if it’s your last.

God forbid though one day it will tragically be your last day on earth. We just don’t know when it is. So appreciate each day as well as the people around you and try not to procrastinate.

I was watching Desperate Housewives the other day - let's say April or something and there was an episode where the main characters had taken everything for granted and something really bad happened at the end.

I really recommend the show - it's long but it's really good and interesting. The episode was Season 8, Episode 16 I Believe.

That’s why you should live your life to the fullest because you only live once. We could be taken away at any time. As you live your life to the fullest, also put your hope in God’s laws. And I pray that God helps you as you do this amen

Psalms 119 Commentary: Part 6 (Verses 32 - 37)

Wednesday 14th July 2021

Hey, it's been a minute!
I would have posted on Sunday but I had to celebrate a couple of birthdays over the weekend that just went, including mine.

I'm always posting just before midnight on this website and it's awful - Yeah, I'm not at home until like 7PM or later when I post things most of the time, but even then I shouldn't be posting this late.

I'm still working on that but thank you for staying with me. I really appreciate it.

And one more thing....

So without further ado

Let's get to it
We're gonna get through it
I'm going to analyse these verses
'Cause no one else is gonna do it!

On this website anyway.

Psalms 119 vs 32-33
32 I am quick to follow your commands, because you have set my heart free.
33 Lord, teach me to follow your orders. Then I will obey them to the very end.

The truth will set you free, just like obeying God’s commandments will set you free as well.

God loves it when you listen to him because it shows that you are truly a child of God. This is what he wants.

Try & submit yourselves to him today if you haven’t done so already. ♥️

During 1 Samuel 3:10-18, God wanted to wipe out the houses of Eli and his family. He didn’t tell this directly to Eli though because he had told Samuel instead.

This was a sign that he had been backsliding.

If Eli hadn’t been doing that then God would have told him directly what he wanted to do to him.

But what’s really distressing is the fact that in 1 Samuel 3:18, Eli’s response to Samuel telling him that God wanted to wipe out his house was ‘he is God. Let him do as he pleases’.

What I’m trying to say is when God is warning you about something or when he’s trying to foreshadow something to you, don’t be nonchalant about it.

Instead you should get down on your knees and pray. And God will guide you amen.

Eli had done the complete opposite thing.

Instead of getting on his knees and praying about everything, he had acted really unfazed and indifferent about the fact that God was going to wipe out his house.

If anything, this reminds me of the story of Job and how Eli had acted in a very contrasting way to him.

In fact, let me quickly make some references to Job 1 vs 20 to the end.

20 After Job heard all these reports, he got up and tore his robe. He shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground and worshiped the Lord21 He said,

“I was born naked.
    And I’ll leave here naked.
The Lord has given, and the Lord has taken away.
May the name of the Lord be praised.”

22 In spite of everything, Job didn’t sin by blaming God for doing anything wrong.

Get this...

Job had lost everything unexpectedly yet he had still given thanks and praise to the Lord.

Eli knew he was going to lose something yet he didn't really seem to care.

And's the issue with a lot of people today, Christians or not.

God foreshadows something in their future that they need to act on but they disobey him, or they leave it to the last minute.

Don't be this person. Procrastination isn't worth it, and as I always like to say

"God doesn't guarantee tomorrow to anyone. So live your best life today because you could be taken away at any time."

This reminds me of the song Last Night from Empire (God forbid though) - but what I said is true. You only live once, make it count.

Have a good day / night

Psalms 119:34-35

34 Help me understand your law. Then I will follow it and obey it with all my heart.
35 Teach me to live as you command, because that makes me very happy.

Ask God to teach him your ways.

This makes him very happy because you’re striving to be more like him. Also ask God for wisdom, knowledge and understanding like King Solomon did in 1 Kings 3:1-15.

Solomon could have asked God for anything but he didn't - he had asked God for wisdom, which God was really pleased about, so he had given him more than what he had asked for.

A cross reference can be Ecclesiastes 6:8, which says...

 Ecclesiastes 6:8

What advantage does a wise man have over someone who is foolish? What does a poor man gain by knowing how to act toward others?

Being wise has its benefits. But have you ever considered the drawbacks?

In Galatians 3:28 it says
There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Not just that but in Genesis 1:27 it says
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”

Both of these verses are more or less talking about how we are created in the same image as God. It doesn’t matter who we are in life, wealthy, not wealthy, intelligent not intelligent...?

We are all one in Christ Jesus.

Earlier I was talking about what some of the disadvantages of being wise can be.

Well some people may expect you to know everything.

They may have high expectations of you so when you’ve failed something it’s kind of like you’ve fallen short.

You don’t necessarily have to be wise to make an impact though. Not all people take advantage of their intelligence like that.

There are many reasons why so I don’t always blame them for it.

I learnt somewhere in real life that the best people aren’t the best at what they do. They are just the most consistent at it.

For example the Number 1 singer today might not be the best. As long as they’re trying their best.

And the best singer out there could be at home doing nothing productive with their life.

If you have a talent then make use of it.

God doesn’t take back his gifts or change is mind about who he has chosen so (Romans 11:29) so use it.

Psalms 119:36-37

36 Make me want to follow your covenant laws instead of wanting to gain things only for myself. 37 Turn my eyes away from things that are worthless. Keep me alive as you have promised.

Unfortunately in life, so many things are not important but we don’t always realise it.

Ask God to make you less selfish and also ask him to remove any form of sin in your life today amen.

Ask him to remove anything in your life that is not of value to him or you, especially things that you think are getting in the way of him.

You are still alive today because God isn’t finished with you yet.

Those that have already died, they have already fulfilled their purpose in life or the devil attacked them.

I always used to wonder

"How can you tell if death is from the Lord or from the devil?"

And now I realise that death from the Lord is normally peaceful.

Death from Satan is normally painful instead.

And sometimes the Lord may allow painful deaths to happen because maybe the person that died is unfortunately destined for Hell.

Not all Christians make it to Heaven, and just because you are born again or you've lived a righteous life doesn't necessarily mean that you will end up in Heaven either.

It's all about repentance - I don't know if I've mentioned it here or not before but if you repent 10 seconds before you die or even on your deathbed then you could make it to Heaven.

It's not guaranteed for sure, but you could.

Pray to God for not just long life but long life with meaning as well. You can live 100 years but if you ain’t doing anything with that, then it’s not worth it.

Best for you to live 20 years on earth and everybody remembers you than for you to live like 75+ years on earth without any real impact.

Quality over quantity matters, in everything you do - or if not then most things.

And to finish off..

I'm not against big friendship groups of course as everyone is different but for me personally, I prefer smaller ones. I'm pretty reserved. In public anyway.

It all depends on who I'm with.

When I was in a big friendship group, I found myself unconsciously drifting away from there to find a smaller one where I was happier.

But like I said, everyone is different. What's best for me might not necessarily be best for you and vice versa.

Psalms 119 Commentary: Part 5 (Verses 24 - 31)

Thursday 8th July 2021

Happy Thursday; I know you don't really say that much but it doesn't matter.

Ever noticed that you don't really do much on Thursdays? I don't hear many people say Let's do this on Thursday.

Even if your birthday is on a Thursday, you'd still mainly celebrate it on a Friday or the weekend at least.

Doing something huge on Thursday doesn't even sound right - but no offence intended.

Speaking of birthdays, it's mine tomorrow and I am so excited!!

Psalms 119:24-25

24 Your covenant laws are my delight. They give me wise advice.
25 I lie in the dust. I’m about to die. Keep me alive as you have promised.

As we came to the Earth, we also sadly have to leave the earth at some point as well. We are still alive because God isn’t done with you yet. Find joy in praising the Lord your God. The bible gives wise advice:

Basic
Instructions
Before
Leaving
Earth

I got that from the Netflix Show Family Reunion - Loretta Devine aka M'Dear said it. But it's still true either way.

1 Timothy 6:7
After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it.

Let's not forget Genesis 3:19 as well...

"You will have to work hard and sweat a lot
to produce the food you eat.
You were made out of the ground.
You will return to it when you die.
You are dust,
and you will return to dust.”

As we came to the world with nothing, we essentially have to leave the world the same way, whether we like it or not.

Even though God created each and every single one of us beautifully, we were also made out of dust at the same time - and we will return to it when we die too.

Even though death is inevitable and is normally perceived as a bad thing- I guess there are good aspects to it as well.

Sometimes many have thought that they have fulfilled their purpose in life so there's nothing for them to do aside from dying. But God has decided to keep them alive for one reason or the other.

Death is the end of all the suffering and pain in this world, and spending eternal life above, where you can see God and where things really matter as well.

I'm not sure if I've used these verses before but I will use them again regardless.

The following is Colossians 3:1-4, NIRV version

No, that wasn't a typo 👀😁 I rarely use the NIV version unless I understand what a verse is saying. But obviously, I'm really not against anyone that uses it.

The NIRV version is the New International Reader's Version.

With the Bible, I normally use translations that I understand. It used to be the NLT version, then CEV and now it's NIRV / Worldwide English (New Testament).

You have been raised up with Christ. So think about things that are in heaven. That is where Christ is. He is sitting at God’s right hand.
Think about things that are in heaven. Don’t think about things that are only on earth. You died. Now your life is hidden with Christ in God. Christ is your life. When he appears again, you also will appear with him in heaven’s glory.

I couldn't have said that better myself.

John 3:16 says....

Actually I'm not even going to quote that verse as it's super popular already (so popular that it would be pretty concerning if you didn't know it off heart) so let's look at verse 17 and 18 - which aren't always as popular but they are still important.

God did not send his Son into the world to judge the world. He sent his Son to save the world through him. 18 Anyone who believes in him is not judged. But anyone who does not believe is judged already. He has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

This is saying that God didn’t send Jesus to the world to condemn us but to save us through him. Verse 18 is saying that if you believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins then God won’t judge you.

So let’s not forget what Jesus did because what he did was very important. If he didn’t die for our sins then goodness knows where we would be today.

If you want God to bless you, then you need to believe that Jesus died for your sins - genuinely.

Psalms 119:26-27

26 I told you how I’ve lived, and you gave me your answer. Teach me your orders.
27 Help me understand what your rules can teach me. Then I’ll spend time thinking about the miracles you have done.

Pray for God to grant you wisdom just like Solomon did!

If you do this then he will give you the wisdom for you to understand his orders. Ask God to help you understand what his rules can teach you. Then you can spend time thinking about the many miracles he has done.

God was really impressed with Solomon that he had chosen wisdom when God had asked him what he wanted.

You can find this in 1 Kings 3 vs 7 the end, but I've  only done from Verses 7 to 12 as I have quite a number of things to get through today.

Lord my God, you have now made me king. You have put me in the place of my father David. But I’m only a little child. I don’t know how to carry out my duties.

I’m here among the people you have chosen. They are a great nation. They are more than anyone can count. So give me a heart that understands. Then I can rule over your people. I can tell the difference between what is right and what is wrong. Who can possibly rule over this great nation of yours?”

10 The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for that.
11 So God said to him, “You have not asked to live for a long time. You have not asked to be wealthy. You have not even asked to have your enemies killed. Instead, you have asked for wisdom. You want to do what is right and fair when you judge people. Because that is what you have asked for, 12 I will give it to you. I will give you a wise and understanding heart. So here is what will be true of you. There has never been anyone like you. And there never will be.

Hosea 4:6 additionally says My people perish for lack of knowledge

So essentially, if Solomon had asked God for something else that wasn't as indispensable (absolutely necessary) as wisdom, then he could have potentially perished.

I believe that's what this verse means, and even if it doesn't relate to Solomon, I just made it that way.

I pray that you don't perish before your time amen, and Heaven will be your final destination.

Psalms 119:28-29

28 My sadness has worn me out. Give me strength as you have promised.
29 Keep me from cheating and telling lies. Be kind and teach me your law.

Sometimes when you’re feeling sad, you can feel worn out.

We've all had sad days and days where you have just felt down. I have recently but I don't want to go into it.

It can be hard for you to turn to God when you're feeling down as it may seem like God is against you.

God is a fair God, and unfortunately for us that does not mean that everything will go our way in life - I'd be pretty bored if it did. God is a just and fair God (you can find that in Psalms 25:8). We get what we deserve in life.

"But Lola, sometimes awful things happen in people's lives without them doing anything to deserve this. How do you explain something like that?"

God/Jesus know what they are doing (John 13:7: And Jesus said to his disciples "You do not know now what I am doing but later you will understand.") and when something devastating happens in a good person's life - it's so that better things will fall into place.

Waiting on God won't be easy, but why don't you read these two quotes below for encouragement?

And I pray you're going to win against the devil, amen.

Not saying this is for everyone but it can be true. You might think God is the reason for your sadness.

And even if he is, you can’t have happiness without sadness first.

If life was good all the time then you wouldn’t really appreciate the hard times.

Pray for God to give you strength (Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me).

If you worship God even when you’re not really feeling it, it speaks volumes and God loves that!❤️

As long as you show that you  love him and not act like you don't want to worship him, even if you don't.

Psalms 119:30-31

30 I have chosen to be faithful to you. I put my trust in your laws.
31 Lord, I’m careful to obey your covenant laws. Don’t let me be put to shame.

When God puts you to shame then you’re kind of done for.

God hates punishing people, and mainly does so when you’ve been backsliding, knowingly or unknowingly.

Hebrews 12:6, the NLT version, says
For the LORD disciplines those he loves, and he punishes each one he accepts as his child.
Most of the time God will punish someone so that they can realise what they are doing is wrong and they can turn to him.
Luckily most people do this, although some other people may decide to continue doing their sinful act even though they know for sure it's wrong.
When somebody dies, it's normally because God is through with them, right?
They've fulfilled their purpose in life and God doesn't really need them anyone, so therefore he takes them home.
As in, to their eternal home.
The world we're living in right now is not permanent even if it may not necessarily seem that way.
Or another reason someone dies is because they've tragically taken their own life for one reason or the other.
But did you know that you can die if you keep on sinning continuously - as in, on purpose... and not repenting?
Read Romans 6:23, I've probably mentioned that a lot of times lately but irrespective, it's a very significant scripture I believe.
Or repenting and doing the same thing all over again instead.
God may decide to end someone's life because they're about to do something that would completely destroy it or ruin their chances of getting into heaven.
Or the devil attacks.
I pray that the devil does not attack you today or for the rest of your life amen.
You will die a peaceful death at the right time and there shall be no untimely death with you, your household and your family - in the mighty name of Jesus, amen.
Even the best of us backslide so don’t worry if you’ve done it. I’ve accidentally backsliden recently too. It’s just that life gets so busy sometimes that we don’t always have time for God.

Despite the fact that God understands that, you shouldn’t shut him out completely.

Still try to make time for him when you have the time. That way, you won’t really be put to shame.

My next post on my Underrated Scriptures Page will be about some signs of backsliding. It’s never too late for you to turn to God.

See you hopefully on Sunday! xoxo

Psalms 119 Commentary: Part 4 (Verses 19 - 23)

Tuesday 6th July 2021

This was meant to be posted earlier today but I've been kind of procrastinating hahahaha, forgive. Second time this has happened. Thank you

But hellllooo! Welcome to Part 4 for Psalms 119 commentary.

Psalms 119:19-20

19 I’m a stranger on earth. Don’t hide your commands from me.
20 My heart is filled with longing for your laws at all times.

You’re a stranger on Earth in the sense that not everybody will know you.

That's actually not a bad thing. Being famous isn't everything.
If anything, here is one disadvantage of it...

Famous people can't do things that the average person can.

What do you think would happen if a celebrity had walked down to the supermarket on a regular day?

They would most likely be mobbed and hounded for autographs and pictures.

Celebrities and other famous people cannot lead lives of normal people.

They may be forced to live in their own little secluded world, and will generally be unable to do things that the average person can. This disadvantage of being famous can stop celebrities from indulging in the little pleasures of life, which can be very frustrating indeed. Some of these simple pleasures of life include:

  • Playing ball at the neighbourhood playground
  • Going shopping at the grocery store
  • Going for an uninterrupted walk or a bicycle ride on the beach
  • Lying on the beach without being mobbed on a sunny day
  • Sitting on the park bench and reading a book without being asked "Can I take a picture of you?"
  • Have a quiet dinner with family at the local restaurant
So like I said, being known by everyone or a lot of people isn't that bad.

The General Overseer of Nigeria (Pastor E A Adeboye) has an annual book called Open Heavens - a daily devotional.

This was part of what he had said on the 15th January, where the Title for the Daily Devotional on that day was Men Pleasing.

"Fame can create a major problem for you, and that is why I do not like it. You cannot live the life that you love to live; you cannot just stop by the road and buy roasted plantain when you feel like eating some. There are a lot of eyes on you.
Left to me, if I could do the work of God without showing my face everywhere, I would gladly do it. I thank God I am not after fame, so when people criticise me on social media because of my Bible-based beliefs, I don’t pay attention. Some preachers can’t preach the truth anymore because they want to remain popular with the congregation. The fear of man brings a snare (Proverbs 29:25). Beware!"

And on February 18th, where the topic was Riches Without Sorrow.

"I assure you that ill-gotten wealth will always have sorrow in it. I have seen all kinds of wealth in my little time as a Pastor and tell you, many wealthy people are living in so much sorrow that they are willing to give up all they have in exchange for peace of mind. Many people have used ill-gotten money to buy cars without knowing that they have bought what would drive them to their early graves."

Sometimes people will have such a good impact in Life that after they've died, people still remember them as if they were still alive - or if they knew them when they were still alive.

Even though they didn't.

Don't get me wrong, there are good things about fame. But I almost always overlook the bad ones. The grass isn't always greener on the other side.

I would personally dislike it, especially how I'm introverted, in public anyway. It honestly depends on who I'm with.

I wouldn't be able to deal with paparazzi following me anytime I go outside and I'm sure many people feel the same way as me as well.

Fame is comme si comme sa (not good and not bad) -- however unless you're famous for God, then I can't 100% see how you can balance the two of them together. Like verse 20 says, your heart should be filled with longing for God's laws.

Not longing for material possessions.

Lastly, when I was writing, copying and pasting the first half of this post (if  I used a website), I was listening to Things We Want by Ramiyah and some of the lyrics were:

"There are things we want so bad, like a dream we've always had.
But what we want ain't always good for us.

There are things that may look good, that could be misunderstood.

'Cause what we want ain't always good for all..."

As I always like to say, just because something is good for someone else doesn't mean it's good for you.

Everyone's path in life is completely different - no two journeys are the same, even if you're meant to have the same job as someone.

Here is the fact about life.

Some people gain success fast and they lose it fast

Some gain it fast and they lose it slowly - but they lose it!

Some gain it and lose it when they die. So they have it for the rest of their lives from when they have it.

Some gain it slowly and lose it slowly

Some gain it slowly and lose it quickly

Some don't gain success at all.

And I pray that the last one will not be your portion in Jesus Mighty name, I pray, amen!

If God hides something away from you or if he stops revealing things to you and you stop hearing from him, then that means you’re backsliding.

You’ve fallen away from him. Don’t let that happen. Long to hear from God at all times.

Psalms 119:21

21 You correct proud people. They are under your curse. They wander away from your commands.

Don’t be a proud person because God doesn’t like it.

He punished a lot of proud people in the bible, they are countless.

There is no hope for the proud but there is hope if you used to be proud but then you repented.

Nebuchadnezzar was a proud person and he had gotten turned into an animal for 7 years.

Pharaoh was proud, by God hardening his heart. Even though he had survived all of the ten plagues, he had died later. I believe he drowned in the Red Sea.

The Red Sea is not Red. I always thought it was Red, but I don't think it is.

Psalms 119:22-23

22 I obey your covenant laws. So don’t let evil people laugh at me or hate me.
23 Even if rulers sit together and tell lies about me, I will spend time thinking about your orders.

When you do something or you stand up for something in your life and people laugh at you, don’t worry! They did the same thing to Jesus.

But you can’t let these people win.

If you let your haters get to you then you’re essentially letting the devil win.

The devil doesn’t deserve to win. Forget the haters because somebody loves you.

And as T.I & Rihanna beautifully put it, just life your life! (aye, aye, aye!!) ♥️♥️

& Never mind what haters say. So long till they fade away.

Also if you’re interested but you don’t have to listen of course here is this sermon I found interesting

Psalms 119 Commentary: Part 3 (Verses 13 - 18)

Sunday 4th July 2021

I may not be in America but it's the 4th of July regardless.

Without further ado, let's get right on to this!

Psalms 119:13-14

13 With my lips I talk about all of the decisions you have made.
14 Following your covenant laws gives me joy just as great riches give joy to others.

If you can talk proudly about worldly things then you should also be able to talk about God too.

Riches and worldly possessions give you glory but don’t forget to praise God because he actually gave you these things in the first place. Follow God’s commandments and he will bless you!

I would also like to mention Ecclesiastes 5 vs 19-20 which says this...

Ecclesiastes 5:19-20

19 Sometimes God gives a man wealth and possessions. He makes it possible for him to enjoy them. He helps him accept the life he has given him. He helps him to be happy in his work. All of those things are gifts from God.

20 A man like that doesn’t have to think about how his life is going. That’s because God fills his heart with joy.

Life is good but it is even better with God.

I’m not saying if you have a personal relationship with God then you won’t experience any bad things in life - you will. Everyone is going to have them regardless of who you are.

However these things will be easier for you to go through because you’ve got God with you, that’s what I’m trying to say.

Luke 16:10-12 says if you’re grateful in the small things then God will give you bigger things. It doesn’t actually say that, it’s just a summary.

You can be very close to God but if you’re not grateful for what you have then how is he going to bless you? God might want to bless you sometimes but because of your gratitude problems he doesn’t.

There could be other things hindering God from blessing you, mainly sin. Romans 6:23 says the wages of sin is death but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

We’ve all had problems with gratitude, I even had minor gratitude problems today and yesterday. But I’m trying to become more grateful with what I have so that God can bless me with more.

But all in all, be happy with the life you have.

If you want to be someone else, just know that if that’s the case then you’re swapping everything you have with everything of the other person.

Do you really want that? I wouldn’t.

How can I be happy with my life when I’m going through the hardest ever time in life?” You might think Think of this way, you’re still alive. Many people aren’t right now. It could even be someone’s last day on Earth today, which they don’t always know about. Someone always has it worse than you. That’s no reason to look down on them though, if you can then try build them up. When thinking of what you are grateful for, never forget life. We take it for granted so much in the sense that we don’t always think about being alive when asking yourself what you’re grateful for.
Have a good day or night.

Psalms 119:15-16

15 I spend time thinking about your rules. I consider how you want me to live.
16 I take delight in your orders. I won’t fail to obey your word.

Be a good person and obey God’s word.

God loves it when you listen to him, and he loves it even more when you obey his instructions. That’s when he knows that you are truly a child of God.

Be as obedient as Abraham. He had obeyed everything that the LORD wanted him to do.

And when God had told Noah to build an ark for him, Noah could have questioned him but he didn't.

Noah obeyed God. He did everything that God had told him to do.
You can find this in Genesis 6:22

Noah was an extremely extraordinary person - he wasn't average.

Read these emboldened sentences from this website

Here’s a few must-read definitions about “average”, courtesy of Edmund Gaudet.

  1. “Average” is what failures claim to be when their family and friends ask them why they are not more successful.
  2. “Average” is the top of the bottom, the best of the worst, the bottom of the top, the worst of the best.
  3. “Average” means being run-of-the-mill, mediocre, insignificant, an also-ran, a nonentity.
  4. Being “average” is the lazy person’s cop-out; it’s lacking the guts to take a stand in life; it’s living by default.
  5. Being “average” is to take up space for no purpose; to take the trip through life, but never to pay the fare; to return no interest for God’s investment in you.
  6. Being “average” is to pass one’s life away with time, rather than to pass one’s time away with life; it’s to kill time, rather than to work it to death.
  7. To be “average” is to be forgotten once you pass from this life. The successful are remembered for their contributions; the failures are remembered because they tried; but the “average,” the silent majority, is just forgotten.
  8. To be “average” is to commit the greatest crime one can against one’s self, humanity, and one’s God. The saddest epitaph is this’ “Here lies Mr. and Ms. Average — here lies the remains of what might have been, except for their belief that they were only “average.”

Abandoning average hurts. Friends will think you’re weird. People won’t want you to change. It can be personally exhausting, but it’s not burnout or stress. It’s the feeling of being pushed to the limit, the way a muscle burns when it’s being strengthened.

Like our physical bodies, abandoning average hurts more the older you get. But it also gives us strength we didn’t know we had.

We should be the same thing or person. As in when God asks you do to something, try to do it. Don't make excuses for it.

I struggle with this too sometimes though as I get older, I know I will find this easier.

Don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today. Because as I always like to say, tomorrow isn't guaranteed to anyone.

God told me to make this website. I didn't want to, but he had told me that I was just doubting myself and I shouldn't do that. Whenever you doubt yourself or worry about something in general, it means that you don't trust God. Albeit as Proverbs 3 says...

Proverbs 3:5-6 says Trust in the Lord with all your heart.
Do not depend on your own understanding.
In all your ways obey him.
Then he will make your paths smooth and straight.

Stay blessed y’all

Psalms 119:17-18

17 Be good to me, and I will live. I will obey your word.
18 Open my eyes so that I can see the wonderful truths in your law.

Pray that God will open your eyes so that he can reveal the truth to you amen.

Some people go to their early graves because they’ve deliberately sinned too much.

Like I said, the wages of sin is death in Romans 6:23.

There's a difference between sinning on purpose and sinning accidentally. When you sin, repent to God... and then you keep on repeating the same sin again... why did you repent to God?

That's kind of taking advantage of God's forgiveness.

Repentance is the key to heaven. You can even repent 10 seconds before you die and still make it there, and I pray you do, amen.

See you on Tuesday! xoxo

Don’t be that kind of person. Repentance is key!

Psalms 119 Commentary: Part 2 (Verses 6 - 12)

Thursday 1st July 2021

Before we begin, I'd just like to say Happy New Month!

I hope July is better than the previous months that have already gone, and tomorrow is the middle day of the year.

Also...

(as of when I went on the website)

I've never been this happy for it to come before, it just seems like the month July hasn't come in decades.

In my previous post, I started analysing Psalms 119, and I'm going to be doing that until I finish it. I started with Psalms 119 vs 1 and I finished with Psalms 119 vs 5. I will be continuing right now. This will be from Verse 6 to 12.

Psalms 119:6-7

6 Then I won’t be put to shame when I think about all of your commands.
7 I will praise you with an honest heart as I learn about how fair your decisions are.

Praise the Lord at all times, especially with an honest heart.

Don’t be afraid of listening to the Ten Commandments. Don’t be proud to show that you’re a Christian either.

If anyone is ashamed of me and my message, the Son of Man will be ashamed of that person when he returns in his glory and in the glory of the Father and the holy angels.

You can find this in Luke 9:26, with Mark 8:38 saying the same thing. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John in the Bible all more or less say the same thing, but at different times, and maybe even with more things added as well.

You should post about God on social media when you can, as much as you can.

Do it with an honest heart as this really shows that you are not ashamed of him.

I used to avoid posting about God on social media because I was excessively worried on what people would think.

Now, even though I'm not fully there on letting go of what people think of me, it's a lot better compared to last year for example.

You can't please everyone so if people don't like you or unfollow you for posting about God then it doesn't matter.

Just focus on the people that love and appreciate what you do, especially God!

Also, I mean, think about it. Do you really want God to deny you, especially when it comes to judgement day?

The worst thing for you to experience is you not being sent up to Heaven when the rapture happens because you are ashamed of God, assuming the rapture happens and you are still alive.

Galatians 1:10 says...

Now, am I trying to please men or God? If I were still trying to please men, then I would not be the servant of Christ.

I don't know how many times I've posted this scripture on here but I believe it's really important.

Normally when you care too much about what people think, you tend to be ashamed of God.

You'd (un)consciously deny him in front of your friends, peers or colleagues because you don't want them to find out that you're religious. Not saying this happens all the time, but most of the time it does, and you don't even realise it.

Don't make a choice you might regret forever.

Don't be this kind of person, I wish the best for each and every single one of you reading this x

Psalms 119:8-10

8 I will obey your orders. Please don’t leave me all alone.
9 How can a young person keep his life pure? By living in keeping with your word.
10 I trust in you with all my heart.

For you to stay pure you must keep on living in God’s word.

If you’ve been backsliding (which I’ve been doing recently, not gonna lie. But definitely not on purpose), what do you do?

You must recognise what you’re doing.

I'm aware that sometimes us Christians backslide without even noticing it, or we didn't intend to do so.

For example, you've had a super busy day today that was completely unexpected  (you didn't think you'd end up having such a busy/stressful day), and you wanted to dedicate the day giving thanks, praise and time to God.

You try to even though you're busy but it's just not happening.

God understands, he is not a wicked or cruel God.

In this scenario, make sure that you give time to God whenever you can or as soon as possible. I always used to think that there had to be a time limit for God, as in I'd spend 4 hours a day giving time for him.

The truth is, God doesn't need a time limit. You can balance God and your normal life, just make sure that you don't forget him and he comes first.

Turn to God after you’ve backsliden before things get worse.
May the Lord help you as you do this amen

In my Underrated Bible Scriptures Page, aka:

Underrated Bible Scriptures - Part 2

I will talk about 8 signs of backsliding. I could do it on here but I'd rather do it on the pages section, and I only post once a day on here and on there.

Psalms 119:11-12

11 I have hidden your word in my hearts of that I won’t sin against you.
12 Lord, I give praise to you. Teach me your orders.

Don’t sin against God.

Sinning comes from the devil. Sinning is normal but there’s a difference between sinning on purpose and sinning by accident.

If you accidentally sin then that’s okay.

You can always repent & try not to commit the same sin again.

But if it’s on purpose then remember that forgiveness is always available and that God is watching you no matter what.

You may think that you had gotten away with everything because man didn't see you - but God does. He watches over all and he never sleeps or slumbers.

Psalms 121:1, NIV version says

My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

Even when you're about to die and you have repented, you can still make it into Heaven.

I pray that you make Heaven after death amen. Before then, continue to live righteously as much as you can and God will help you as you do this too.
